God and Man Regarding Anger
GOD
The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, “Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. (Exodus 3:4-6)
The Lord is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. (Psalm 103:8)
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy. (Psalm 145:8)
So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, For He is gracious and merciful, Slow to anger, and of great kindness; And He relents from doing harm. (Joel 2:13)
MAN
A wrathful man stirs up strife, But he who is slow to anger allays (reduce or alleviate) contention. (Proverbs 15:18)
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city. (Proverbs 16:32)
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression. (Proverbs 19:11)
Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. (James 1:19)
