A New Turn For BTC

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

(Matthew 25:34-36)

This month Breaking The Chains celebrates 8 years of helping people become free through the power of Jesus Christ! We are grateful to God for entrusting this ministry to us. We have enjoyed every minute of it and can only pray God will allow us many more years of helping people become free from their problems and struggles.

Around April of this year our ministry began to receive an influx of mail from prisoners from all over the United States. Many were seeking pen pals but many more were seeking God and Christian fellowship. We knew there would be a day we would minister to those in jail but we imagined it would be down the road. Well, I guess the Lord is telling us that down the road is now! We have been blessed since then to receive more letters from prisoners and several of those continue to correspond with us repeatedly.

We aren’t always sure how they find us, but we are glad when they do. We will continue to do what God has called us to do and bring hope and Christ’s healing to those He sends to us be it in person or through the mail with our teachings.

God does not forget anyone, even those in prison. He seeks to reach out to them just as much as anyone else. God seeks to heal and restore those who are in despair, in pain and broken. He can use anyone for His glory…even a prisoner. Christ came to set all people free as we see in Isaiah 42:6-9:

“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles,
To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the prison,
Those who sit in darkness from the prison house.
I am the Lord, that is My name;
And My glory I will not give to another,
Nor My praise to carved images.
Behold, the former things have come to pass,
And new things I declare;
Before they spring forth I tell you of them.”

We pray for all inmates that God will open their eyes to Him and break their chains, bringing healing and restoration to their lives.
