Ken and Michelle Kavanagh
Ken and Michelle have directed Breaking The Chains Biblical Recovery Ministry at Church of God Soldiers of Jesus Christ since it began in 2008 . Prior to this, they were Directors of Celebrate Recovery from 2005-2006 at Life Church of the Nazarene in Watertown, NY. Michelle was on the Leadership Team of Celebrate Recovery at the Church of the Nazarene in Junction City, KS in 2005 and Ken drove the bus to transport people to the ministry.
Ken is retired from the Army after serving 21 years. He has completed four years of college and has a B.A. in Church Leadership, Counseling Emphasis. Ken is currently employed at Army Emergency Relief (AER) and continues to enjoy serving the soldiers and their families.
Michelle volunteered and worked for the American Red Cross from 1995 – 2005 in the areas of Military Casework, Emergency Services, Disaster Services, and Health and Safety Services. Michelle was led to write Breaking The Chains in 2007 and gives all credit to the Lord for providing everything she needed to write Breaking The Chains. The Bible states God’s Word is a living Word and Michelle realized this through the application of scripture in her life in order to heal.
Both Ken and Michelle were certified in Youth Leadership through Church of God and were Youth Leaders for 18 months. Both have received a Diploma of Practical Theology through International Seminary and have worked as leaders and Directors for Celebrate Recovery at prior churches.
Ken and Michelle continue to be amazed at how far God has brought each one of them, the healing He has done and where He continues taking them in their day to day life.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
